We set out to build a safe, accessible place where people could gather, reconnect with the land, share movement, tradition, stories, and find healing.
That beginning took shape as Sítio Sabiá, and quickly grew into:
Our work began as a family story—rooted in Capoeira, land, and cultural memory.
Through movement, music, and community, we found belonging, joy, and a pathway to share the Afro-Brazilian arts and the magic of Bahia with the world.
We are up against a lot: Across communities in Brazil and the U.S., people are seeking spaces to reconnect—to the land, to cultural roots, to one another, and to themselves. Access to Afro-Brazilian arts and community-centered healing remains limited.
We are building a model that changes that reality.

We create events, residencies, digital archives, and productions that amplify stories too often overlooked or untold.
Our creative work is both mission-driven and revenue-generating—supporting our programs and building economic opportunity in Bahia.
